BROWN LEAVES GRYPHONS FOOTBALL PROGRAM
GUELPH, Ont. - The University of Guelph, Department of Athletics announced today that Bill Brown will not return as the defensive coordinator of the Guelph Gryphons football team next season.
Brown will be fulfilling his contractual obligations until June and then returning to his full-time teaching job. He will also play an instrumental role in ensuring the smooth transition of the new Gryphons head football coach, following the resignation of Kyle Walters last week.
He leaves following two years of service as the full-time defensive coordinator after taking a leave from teaching health and physical education at King George Public School in Guelph, Ont. He has spent a total of nine years coaching with the Gryphon football program and was also a player from 1994-1998.
"On behalf of the University of Guelph and Department of Athletics, I want to thank Bill Brown for his service over the last two years and wish him the best of luck," said Guelph director of athletics Tom Kendall.
