OUA FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Justin Chapdelaine of Abbotsford, B.C., became the first player in Queen’s history to throw for six touchdown passes. The second year quarterback connected with four different receivers for the majors in the Gaels 66-1 victory over the Toronto Varsity Blues and now ranks sixth all-time in CIS history for touchdown passes in a game. Chapdelaine finished the game an efficient 21 for 25 with 284 yards while also adding 17 yards and a touchdown on the ground, his fifth on the season, ranking him fourth overall in the CIS.
Sam Sabourin of Stittsville, Ont., continued his outstanding rookie season as he recorded 10.5 tackles as Queen’s defeated the Toronto on Saturday. Sabourin, who also had his first career interception in the contest as well as a pass breakup and a tackle for a loss, played a big role in holding the Varsity Blues to just six first downs and 39 yards rushing. He now leads the country in total tackles with 49.
