VALLÃ?â?°E, LANCERS ADD SIZE IN CLÃ?â?°MENÃ?â?¡ON AND GORDON FOR 2009-10
Clémençon, a native of Saint-Vallier, France, will join the Lancers as an exchange student in the fall. A very talented post player, Jessica played this past season for Étoile de Voiron, a top club team in France.
Considered to be one of the top junior players in France, Clémençon has competed for the France junior national team at the Under-20 European Championships for the past two years.
"We are thrilled to have Jessica joining our program next fall as an exchange student," commented Valleé. "She is a very skilled post player with tremendous experience at the international level. I expect her to have an immediate impact on our program. Her size, experience, and skills are what we needed to remain national contenders and we couldn't be more excited to welcome Jessica to our Lancer family."
Gordon, was the team captain at Mother Theresa High School where she was named the senior girl's basketball player of the year this past season.
Coach Vallée says Gordon is the rare combination player that possesses both incredible size and coordination as evidenced by the fact that she helped lead the London 86'ers to a bronze medal at the Ontario Basketball Championships in 2008.
"Jessica is truly another great recruit that we believe has the ability to make an impressive mark in the OUA," added Valleé. "Her size and, work ethic and desire to improve will surely lead her to be one of our team most important players in the future."
The addition of Clemencon and Gordon adds more excitement to Vallée's Lancer squad which returns nine players from their OUA championship squad that finished last season with a 21-1 regular season record.
