ALLGOOD ON FIRE AS BROCK PICKS UP TWO WINS
Windsor (5-7-4-1) put the blowout loss behind them and came back with a scrappy 3-2 OT win over the second-place Guelph Gryphons Saturday. Darris Ford scored twice for the Lancers, while Megan Casey and Mara DeLaroche both picked up two assists. Nicole Latrielle and Carrie Tokarcyzk scored for Guelph, which had had tied the game in the third period to send it to overtime. Latrielle is third in the OUA with 15 points (9-6-15). Amanda Cretto made 29 saves in net for Windsor.
The third-place Toronto Varsity Blues enjoyed a productive week, picking up three of a possible four points with a 2-2 draw against the York Lions Wednesday and a 3-0 blanking of the Waterloo Warriors Saturday. Laura Foster and Sue McCutcheon rallied the Blues with third-period goals to earn a hard-fought tie. Despite a tough final 20 minutes, Melanie Quinn was stellar in the York goal, making 33 stops. Toronto scored another pair of goals in the third period to upend the Warriors in Waterloo.
Prior to the overtime loss against the Badgers, Western's Danielle Le Ber stopped all 22 shots she faced in a 2-0 shut-out win over the Gryphons Friday. Lisa MacDonald and Lyndsay Doxator scored the goals for the Mustangs.
Lauren Meschino scored the winner as the nation's top-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks grabbed their 15th victory of the season in a 2-1 defeat of the Queen's Golden Gaels. Andrea Ironside also scored for the Hawks, while Amanda Morra had the Queen's goal.
York improved to 5-6-5-0 as Amanda Cole and Jessica Turi tallied in a 2-0 win over the Warriors in Sunday's only OUA action. Quinn made 24 saves to record her second shut-out of the season.
