OUA W-VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: VARSITY BLUES TAKE OVER FIRST PLACE IN EAST
The Rams kept the game close, tying the game 8-8 halfway in, however the Blues increased the gap with Rebecca Crosier (Ottawa) blocking many of the Rams shots and scoring the final point of the set to give the Blues a 25-21 win.

First-year Varsity Blue Lauren Willoughby (Unionville, Ont.) and veteran Heather Bansley (Waterdown, Ont.) snuck some nice shots past the Rams as Toronto took the second game 25-21.
Crosier again led the Blues at the beginning of the third set. The Blues then went on a huge run led by Amy Sweetman (Kingston, Ont.) and Bansley to gain a commanding 21-9 lead.
The Rams played catch up for the rest of the game, managing to land another six points thanks to Lindsay Franco (Oakville, Ont.) and Saar, but the Blues maintained their advantage, winning the game 25-15.

WINDSOR 3, OTTAWA 0
At Windsor, the Lancers Women's Volleyball team won their first match of the season on Sunday with a 3-0 victory (25-21, 27-25, 25-17) over the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the St. Denis Centre.
Tied at 21-21 in the first set, the Lancers finally seized control as Jessica Shepley's (Belle River, Ont.) service ace was followed by a Mackenzie Coyle (Belle River, Ont.) kill to give the home team the 25-21 victory.
For the second consecutive set, the Lancers took control near the end as they battled for a hard fought 27-25 set win. Windsor put up eight straight points before allowing Ottawa to get on the board.
Staying confident and in control, the Lancers were able to hold on to their lead for a majority of the set. After the second technical time-out, a Gee-Gees comeback would cut Windsor's lead to just three points.
However, the Lancers responded from that point on as they controlled the rest of the set en route to the 25-17 win and the 3-0 match victory.
For the Lancers, Kaila Seguin (Windsor, Ont.) led the way with eight kills while Coyle contributed six of her own. Jillian Fantuz (Chatham, Ont.) also had a strong match with 25 assists.
