GRYPHONS NAME SHAWN CAMP AS NEW MEN'S HOCKEY HEAD COACH
Camp brings an extensive resume to the Gryphons hockey program. The 46-year old has most recently served as the assistant coach and assistant general manger of the Saginaw Spirit in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
In 2003-04 Camp was the bench boss for the Guelph Storm where his team won the championship and represented the OHL in the Memorial Cup. As the head coach of Canada's Under-18 hockey team he won a silver medal at the world
under-18 championships and a gold medal at the Junior World Cup in 2005.
The Ottawa native was an assistant coach with Memorial Cup champions Hull Olympiques (1997), and head coach/general manager of Hawkesbury of the Ontario Central Junior Hockey League (1998-2000). No stranger to the CIS, he was also an assistant coach with the Ottawa Gee Gees from 1990-1995.

"He brings a wealth of experience and a skill set that we feel will drive the success of our hockey program going forward. He is a very well respected member of the hockey community, a person of the highest integrity and a perfect role model and mentor for our young student athletes"
The level 3 NCCP certified coach is a former member of both Mount Allison's hockey and soccer Mounties in the mid '80s, Camp graduated from Mount Allison in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
"I am honored and excited to be a part of the Gryphons hockey program and I am really looking forward to building on all the great things going with this program," said Camp.
