LAURIER'S FOOTBALL FRIENDS SHOW THEIR SUPPORT
The goal of the evening is to bring the corporate world, alumni and friends together in the promotion of Golden Hawk Football.
This year's event featured highlights of the 2005 Vanier Cup Championship season, along with the honouring the 1968 Football Team who won the Atlantic Bowl and were National Finalists.
On behalf of his '68 team mates Mr. Bob Hamilton spoke on how the values and lessons learned through team sport and the \"Laurier family\" have influenced his life experiences. Bob and his family now live in Calgary where he is a Vice President with RBC, however Bob still has an active role at Laurier as a member of the Board of Governors.
The event will be rebroadcast on Rogers Cable (channel 20 in Grand River Region) on Sunday, May 14 at 7:00 PM.
The 5th Quarter Club is operated under the umbrella of the Golden Hawk Club, the fundraising organization for Athletics at Wilfrid Laurier University. The goal of the 5th Quarter Club is to raise funds for the football program and to cultivate friendships surrounding the great tradition and success of one of the top programs in Canada.
Golden Hawk Football has enjoyed excellent support in the past and the proceeds from this event have helped to enhance the program over the past six seasons.
