BROCK AND LAURIER CONTINUE UNDEFEATED STREAKS
The Brock Badgers improved to 6-0-1 on the season crushing the York Lions 4-1 on Saturday. The team played strong both offensively and defensively scoring 4 goals on 48 shots while holding the Lions to a mere 14 shots and surrendering one goal. Erin Quinn led the Badgers with one goal and one assist while teammates Sarah McDade, Michelle Edgar, and the team's leading scorer Kate Allgood each had a goal a piece in the victory. Lisa Schad was the lone scorer for the Lions but it was not enough to break the Badgers undefeated streak.
Laurier 2, Windsor 1 (OT)
Laurier narrowly pulled out their fifth victory of the season, needing overtime to defeat the Windsor Lancers 2-1. The game was scoreless until the third period when each team scored a goal, sending this game into overtime where the Hawks were able to pull out the victory at home. Andrea Bevan and Amanda Joseph had a goal a piece for Laurier while teammates Samantha Cully and Candice Djukic each added an assist in the win. Kelly Strauss scored the only goal for the Lancers but the team fell just short in overtime as Laurier continued their undefeated streak improving to 5-0-1 on the season.
Windsor 2, Guelph 1
The Guelph Gryphons remained on top of the west division despite losing their game against the Lancers 2-1. Laura Parks and Erin Boggs each had a goal in the victory while teammates Tricia Pray, Kate Dumouchelle, Kara Welch, and Connie Donato each added an assist to help the Lancers to victory. Elysia Desmier was the lone scorer for the Gryphons but it was not enough to overcome the Lancers who improved to 3-3-1-1 on the season.
Toronto 4, Queen's 3 (OT)
The Toronto Varsity Blues were able to avenge an earlier weekend loss to the Golden Gales pulling out a 4-3 overtime victory. Andrea Patry and Emily Patry led the team each scoring one goal and adding one assist while fellow Blues, Jacqueline Cherevaty and Janine Davies scored the teams other two goals. Toronto remains in second place in the east behind the Brock Badgers while Queen's drops to 2-4-0-1 on the season.
