CHIASSON BREAKS OUA SCORING RECORD
(Kingston, ON) - Queen's University Golden Gael Elizabeth Chiasson etched her name in the record books on Friday night as she broke the OUA scoring record in the Gaels 2-0 win over the Windsor Lancers at Jock Harty Arena. Chiasson, a Kingston native, recorded a goal and an assist to move her past former Gael Jules Stevens and University of Toronto Varsity Blue Lori Dupuis. Chiasson currently has 137 career points, but the total will likely continue to climb as the Gaels have six games remaining in the 2004-05 season.
Chiasson recorded point 136 with a goal at the 10:17 mark of the second period.
Keri Baker (Tecumseh, ON) and Miranda Costie (Cambridge, ON) assisted on the goal. She then broke the record with point 137 when she set-up Baker mid-way through the third. Claire Hunt recorded her second shutout of the year with 23 saves.
The Gaels (8-5-1-1), who are undefeated in their last three games, host the Guelph
Gryphons on Saturday night. The Gryphons are coming of a victory over the East
leading Toronto Varsity Blues. Face-off is 7 p.m. at Jock Harty Arena.
