LAURIER LOSES FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON
The Warriors pulled off an upset victory over the Hawks in overtime, handing Laurier their first loss of the season. Laurier led 1-0 after two periods but Waterloo battled back to even the score in the third to send this game into overtime where the Warriors scored the game-winning goal to defeat the Hawks 2-1. Kristen Lindstol led the Warriors scoring one goal and adding one assist while teammate Lindsay Wood scored the other goal in the victory. Laurier played strong offensively out shooting the Warriors 45-17 but Warriors goaltender Alexis Huber played strong defensively, stopping 44 of the 45 shots she faced. With the loss Laurier dropped to 8-1-2-1 while Waterloo improved to 3-7-1-0 on the season.

Laurier defeated the Western Mustangs 1-0 in a close defensive game. The game was scoreless until the second period when Fiona Aiston scored the game-winning goal for the Hawks assisted by teammates Laurissa Kenworthy and Amanda Joseph. The Mustangs had a couple opportunities to score but the Hawks goaltender Cindy Eadie could not be beat on this day as she recorded the shutout victory for Laurier.
