GUELPH, Ont. - The No. 4 nationally-ranked Brock Badgers (2-0-0) kept their perfect start to the 2009 regular season alive with a 4-0 convincing victory over the host Gryphons (0-1-1) on Sunday.
Four different scorers found the mesh for the Badgers. Contributing with first half goals were Laura Tirone (Welland, Ont.) and Brittany Vanderkruk (Flamborough, Ont.) while Alexandra Esposito (Mississauga, Ont.) and Dayna Haig (Toronto) chipped in with second half goals.
Syreeta Rhoden (Niagara Falls, Ont.) earned the shutout in net for Brock.
The Badgers return home to face the defending OUA champion Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.Guelph plays host to the Windsor Lancers on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.
OTTAWA 1, RYERSON 1
At Ottawa, the No. 5-ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees (3-0-2) remained undefeated in OUA action in 2009 with a 1-1 draw against the visiting Ryerson Rams (0-2-2) on Sunday.
Second-year player Nikki Moreau (Almonte, Ont.) put Ottawa on the board in the first half, but Ryerson escaped the nation's capital with a tie on a marker by Diana Smiciklas (Oakville, Ont.) in the second half.
The Gee-Gees visit the Trent Excalibur on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. The Rams return home to host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sept. 16 beginning at 6 p.m.
LAURIER 1, WESTERN 0
At Western, the No. 6-ranked Golden Hawks (2-0-0) earned a 1-0 road victory against the Mustangs (1-1-0) on Sunday.
Heather Malizia (Burlington, Ont.) scored in the 74th minute to earn three road points for the Golden Hawks. Third-year goaltender Liora Berger (Richmond Hill, Ont.) earned the shutout between the pipes.
The Mustangs visit the York Lions on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.
YORK 1, MCMASTER 0
At York, the Lions (1-1-0) earned their first victory of the 2009 OUA season defeating the McMaster Marauders 1-0 on Sunday.
Ami Otaki (Kanagawa, Japan) booted the game-winning goal on a free kick in the second half.
The Marauders (0-1-1) host the Waterloo Warriors on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.
NIPISSING 3, TRENT 0
At Nipissing, the Lakers (1-1-2) added their first game to the win column in a 3-0 shutout of the Trent Excalibur (0-3-1) on Sunday.
Third-year player Leesa Church (North Bay, Ont.) scored the game-winning goal in the 18th minute. The Lakers preserved their 1-0 advantage into the second, when Alexandra Instance (Petawawa, Ont.) added to the lead in the 55th minute. Kim Tait (Peterborough, Ont.) scored a third marker to complete the scoring.
Third-year goaltender Samantha Behm (Winchester, Ont.) earned a shutout between the pipes.
Nipissing's next action is on Sept. 19 at RoyalMilitaryCollege beginning at 12 p.m. The Excalibur visit the Ryerson Rams on Sept. 19 starting at 1 p.m.
WINDSOR 1, WATERLOO 0
At Windsor, the host Lancers (1-1-0) earned a 1-0 victory against the Waterloo Warriors (0-2-0) on Sunday.
Second-year player Bridget Jeffray (Goderich, Ont.) scored the game's only goal in the second half.
The Lancers visit the Guelph Gryphons on Sept. 19 at 1 p.m.
CARLETON 2, RMC 0
At Carleton, the Ravens (2-2-1) blanked the RMC Paladins (0-2-0) on home turf by a 2-0 margin on Sunday.
Fifth-year midfielder Jen Crichton (Manotick, Ont.) opened the scoring in the first half, while teammate Aisha Stinson (Ottawa) added an insurance marker in the second.
Anna Morsky (Saskatoon) earned the shutout for Carleton.
The Ravens visit the Toronto Varsity Blues on Sept. 19 beginning at 1 p.m.
TORONTO 0, QUEEN'S 0
At Queen's, goals were hard to come by in a 0-0 draw between the host Gaels (1-1-1) and visiting Toronto Varsity Blues (2-0-1) on Sunday.
Chantel Marson (London, Ont.) of Queen's and Mary Anne Barnes (Scarborough, Ont.) of Toronto pitched shutouts in goal for their respective clubs.
The Gaels play host to the Laurentian Voyageurs on Sept. 19 at 12 p.m.

Catherine Scott (Pointe-Claire, Que.), Tara Condos (Strathroy, Ont.) and Courtney Luscombe (Ottawa) all scored for Ottawa.

At Windsor, the defending OUA champion Golden Hawks won their season opener 2-0 against the host Lancers on Saturday.
Liora Berger (Richmond Hill, Ont.) scored Laurier's first goal of the season at the 26th minute. Alyssa Coppolino (Kitchener, Ont.) added another for good measure in the second half.
Tristin Vogel (Collingwood, Ont.) got the shutout in goal for the Golden Hawks.
LAURENTIAN 2, TRENT 0
At Laurentian, the host Lady Vees (3-1-0) continued their strong start at home with a 2-0 victory over Trent on Saturday.
Lisa Watson (Newmarket, Ont.) scored in the 17th minute in what proved to be the game-winning goal. Katie Larue (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) added an insurance goal in the second half.
Goaltender Victoria Kulczycki (London, Ont.) earned a shutout victory.
CARLETON 3, RYERSON 2
At Carleton, Shayla LaVecchia (Ottawa) scored the game-winning goal in the second half to lift the Ravens past the Rams.
Both teams combined for four goals in the opening half. Natalie Griffith (Ottawa) of the Ravens scored the opening goal, with Calaigh Copland (Peterborough, Ont.) responding with a pair for Ryerson. Griffith booted her second goal late prior to halftime, setting up the LaVecchia heroics.
WESTERN 2, WATERLOO 0
At Western, the host Mustangs opened the 2009 OUA season with a victory over the Warriors.
Courtney Lambert (Burlington, Ont.) and Robyn Sudeyko (Calgary) netted first-half goals for the Mustangs.
Western goaltender Marissa Chin (Stouffville, Ont.) earned the shutout win.
