DURISH NAMED NEW BROCK WOMEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH
"We are so pleased to have John on board," said Brock assistant athletic director Chris Critelli. "I am especially happy for the team, as their success in the past few years was a result of the contribution of not only the head coach but all the assistants. John was definitely a part of our team's winning tradition. He is not only a great coach but a fine person. He will be good for the university and the entire soccer community."
Durish has worked as an assistant coach with the Brock women's team for the past three years. During that time he was part of some school history when the team captured a silver medal at the 2008 CIS National Championships in Burnaby, B.C.
He is currently the head coach of the OYSL Youth 18 Team in Niagara Falls and is helping coach a 12-year old Girls Rep Soccer. Durish also works as the Director of the Youth Technical Development Program at the Welland Soccer Club.
For the past 10 years he has worked as the General Manager of the Welland Soccer Club. During this time he has been in charge of the planning and implementation of skills clinics and programs for all age groups.
Durish is a Certified Provincial Pre-B Coach with his NCCP Level 3 certification. He is also a member of the Welland Player Development Committee and a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
