OUA FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENCE: Nathan Riva, Western Mustangs, Running Back
Riva (LaSalle, Ont.) tied a Western Mustangs record with a five-touchdown performance in a 60-7 win over Windsor on Sept. 19. The second-year running back added 131 yards on 14 carries and 94 yards on four catches. Four touchdowns came on rushing attempts and the other came off a Michael Faulds pass. He is among the nation's leaders in rushing, all-purpose yards, scoring and receiving. Riva is also the Pioneer Petroleums OUA Male Athlete of the Week.
DEFENCE: Shomari Williams, Queen's Gaels, Defensive End
Williams (Brampton, Ont.) was a defensive force for the Queen's Gaels in their 20-8 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sept. 19. In his first game as a Gael, Williams recorded six solo tackles, three assisted tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.
