ADVISORY: DAN BRANNAGAN BREAKS OUA PASSING RECORD
Brannagan threw for 347 yards against the Warriors, giving him 9,989 career passing yards, surpassing Ben Chapdelaine’s mark of 9,974 set with the McMaster Marauders from 1997 to 2001. Brannagan is now 466 yards shy of the all-time Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) record held by McGill’s Matt Connell. Connell set the record of 10,455 yards last season.
Brannagan may not hold the OUA record for long, as Western Mustangs quarterback Michael Faulds (Eden Mills, Ont.) has 9,877 career yards after Thursday’s 64-6 win over the York Lions on Thursday. Both Brannagan and Faulds have two regular season games remaining to add to their career totals.
Both players perform on the same field next Saturday, Oct. 17 as the No. 4 Queen’s Gaels host the No. 5 Western Mustangs at Richardson Stadium in Kingston, Ont. beginning at 1 p.m. The game can be seen nationally on The Score Television Network.
