OUA M-HOCKEY ROUNDUP: REDMEN ROLL A SEVEN
McGill improved to 18-3-1 in their last 22 meetings against Concordia and the victory clinched second place in the OUA Far East for the unranked Redmen, who are the hottest team in the country right now with 13 victories in their last 15 outings.
With two games remaining on their schedule, McGill owns a 17-7-2 record and sits four points ahead of the second-place Stingers (14-9-4), who have only one game remaining before playoffs.
Sophomore Evan Vossen (Swift Current, Sask.) notched his seventh of the campaign to give McGill a 2-0 lead midway through the first period.
Cory McGillis (Sudbury, Ont.) gave the Stingers some life with his eighth goal to make it 2-1 after two
But Kovacevic snuffed out any hopes with two goals in 48 seconds early in the third period to give him a career-high 12 markers. Concordia's Renaud Des Alliers (Sorel-Tracy, Que.) and Andrew Palombaro (Laval, Que.) replied in the final period but it was too little, too late.
Goalie Danny Mireault made 21 saves to improve his record to 10-6-0. The rookie from Notre Dame des Prairies, Que., started in place of netminder Kevin Désfossés (Beauport, Que.), who was scratched with a bout of the flu after posting back-to-back upsets over No.3-ranked UQTR.
Mireault, however, failed to pitch a "complete game" as referee Nicolas Dutil made him sit out one shift after he had skated to the McGill bench in search of a towel to wipe his mask. Rookie Hubert Morin (St-Georges-de-Beauce, Que.) was pressed into action for what turned out to be 14 seconds until the next whistle.
Concordia's Maxime Joyal (Châteauguay, Que.) took the loss, allowing four goals on 37 shots

NO. 10 WATERLOO 2, WINDSOR 1, SO
WATERLOO, Ont. - The Waterloo Warriors played on Friday and Sunday against Western and Windsor. Both games went right down to the wire and would require a shoot-out to decide the winner.
On Friday the Warriors traveled to Western to face the Mustangs and their boisterous crowd. A strong third period comeback by the Warriors sent the game to overtime and then to a shootout before the Mustangs finally secured the win after 11 shooters, the final score 6-5.
On Sunday the Warriors hosted the Windsor Lancers. Once again the Warriors would require a third period comeback to take the game to a shootout. This time the Warriors came out on top and recorded the 2-1 victory.
Windsor drew first blood late in the second when Scott Gillis (Antigonish, N.S.) converted a slick feed from Kyle Lang (Tilbury, Ont.) on a Lancer two-man advantage. Following the goal, the Warriors began to turn up the pressure but couldn't beat a solid Jim Watt (Edmonton, Alta.) in the Lancer net.
At the 14-minute mark of the third, the Warriors were able to square the game on a goal by Chris Ray (Kelowna, B.C.). Neither team could break the tie and the game headed to a shootout. Doug Spooner (Toronto, Ont.) scored for the Warriors on their second attempt and Pier Pelletier (Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Que.) closed the door in net as the Warriors prevailed by a score of 2-1.

OTTAWA 4, TORONTO 3
OTTAWA, Ont. - Ottawa Gee-Gees fourth-year centre Dan McDonald (New Liskeard, Ont.) scored three times including the game-winner Sunday afternoon in a 4-3 men's hockey victory over Toronto to keep its OUA East Division playoff hopes alive.
Second-year goalkeeper Riley Whitlock (Calgary, Alta.) made 42 saves to help uOttawa move into a tie with Queen's for the sixth and final playoff spot in the OUA East with two games in hand.
The Gee-Gees need three points over its final three games to earn a playoff berth and could finish as high as fifth-place if cross-town Carleton were to lose its remaining games, including Tuesday at the Sports Complex (7:00 p.m.).
"We control our destiny," said Gee-Gees head coach Dave Leger.
Ottawa erased a 3-0 deficit early in the second period when McDonald scored his first of two goals off a 5-on-3 power play at 10:19 before notching his second goal at even-strength 72 seconds later.
The fourth–year centre then scored the game winner - his 11th goal in 22 games – on a power play at 13:18 of the third period.
"Bad start," said Leger. "We were really undisciplined but in the second period we put it together."
Third-year left wing Yanick Charron (Hull, Que.), scored once and added two assists for the Gee-Gees, which was missing fifth-year captain Martin Herard (lower body).
Third-year defender Eddie Snetsinger (Ajax, Ont.) had one goal on the power play and one assist for the Varsity Blues. First-year forward Kyle Ventura (Scarborough, Ont.) and fourth-year forward Joe Rand (Hamilton, Ont.) also scored for Toronto.
