FORMER GEE-GEE NAMED IHL ROOKIE ALL-STAR

OTTAWA, Ont. - Former Gee-Gees men's hockey defenceman Rob Jarvis earned a 2008-09 spot on the International Hockey League's all-rookie team.

The 24-year-old Ottawa native who played five seasons with the Gee-Gees, ending in 2008, scored 11 goals with 36 points over 72 regular season games with the Kalamazoo Wings.

Jarvis, a 2007-08 second-team OUA all-star as a fifth-year senior with the Gee-Gees, also scored three game-winning goals during the regular season for the K-Wings, which play Game 4 of an IHL semifinal against the Fort Wayne Comets on Wednesday night.
