OUA W-HOCKEY ROUNDUP: BLUES MAUL LIONS
Amanda Fawns (Scarborough, Ont.) opened up the scoring, capitalizing on a turnover, roofing the puck past York goaltender Megan Slumskie (Baden, Ont.).
The Blues scored again just three minutes later as Emily Milito (Ottawa, Ont.) buried a power-play rebound off the back post. Toronto led 2-0 after the first period.
Fourth-year assistant captain and Blues Player of the Game Annie DelGuidice (Hamilton, Ont.) would tally her second assist of the night, feeding second-year forward Brenley Jorgensen (Kingston, Ont.) a pass from the high slot for another Toronto power-play goal.
Madoc, Ont. native Darby Smith scored the Blues fourth goal of the game as she walked across the high slot and sent one through traffic and into the net.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the third period. Blues first-year goaltender Kendyl Valenta (Hamilton, Ont.) stopped 24 shots for her third shut out of the season.

BROCK 3, WESTERN 2, SO
LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs dropped a 3-2 decision to the Brock Badgers, falling in a shootout at Thompson Arena on Oct 25.
Goaltender Jessica Ulrich (Keswick, Ont.) made 30 saves for Western, and Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) played well, making 33 saves for Brock.
Katie Dillon (Oshawa, Ont.) and Ellie Seedhouse (Whitby, Ont.) each scored first period goals for the Mustangs, while Courtney Sutherland (Mount Forest, Ont.) and Shannon McLeod (Port Dover, Ont.) both tallied for the Badgers.
Dillon opened the scoring on a power play just over two minutes into the game. She jumped on a loose puck, knocking the rebound into the empty net.
With Western's Veronica Johnston (Oshawa, Ont.) in the penalty box, Seedhouse gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead. A great shorthanded passing play allowed Seedhouse to score on another rebound.
The Badgers got on the board early in the second period, as Sutherland knocked a rebound past Ulrich.
McLeod tied the game late in the second frame, as Ulrich made the first save, but could not locate the loose puck in front.
Each goaltender stood tall throughout the rest of regulation, as both made several key stops. Western's best chances came on several third-period power plays, but regulation ended in a 2-2 tie.
Overtime solved nothing, and Holly Ouellette (Toronto, Ont.) opened the scoring in the shootout for Western. She deked past Clause and scored with a high shot.
Kristen Dewsbury was Brock's third shooter, and scored with a shot that barely squeaked across the line.
Moments later, Karolyn Mcllmoyle (Newmarket, Ont.) ended the game with a high shot past Ulrich's blocker.

WINDSOR 2, BROCK 1, SO
WINDSOR, Ont. - The Windsor Lancers women's hockey team snapped their five game losing streak Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Brock Badgers. Coach Sekela's squad was coming off a 3-1 loss Saturday afternoon to the Guelph Gryphons, their fifth in a row after opening the season with two straight victories.
The game started off slow for both teams, as neither offence could generate a sustained attack in the opposing zone. Any time that a chance was created, Jamie Tessier (Copper Cliff, Ont.) of the Lancers and Beth Clause of the Badgers were there to deny the opportunity.
Windsor would manage to get one past Clause early in the second period. After a tripping penalty on the Badgers gave Windsor a power play, Darris Ford (Echo Bay, Ont.) and Candace Rapchak (Stoney Point, Ont.) combined to setup Manon Davis (Sudbury, Ont.) who found the back of the net to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead.
Just three minutes later, the Lancers were rewarded a penalty shot after Davis was hauled down on a breakaway. However, the Lancer forward could not find a way to beat Clause and lead remained 1-0.
Late in the period, the Badgers would tie the game after a turnover by the Lancers defence at the blue line. The mistake allowed the Badgers to break in 2-on-1 and Kelly Walker fed Courtney Sutherland who fired a shot far side past Tessier to even the score heading to the third.
Both teams had their opportunity to put the game away in the final frame, but once again, Tessier and Clause were equal to the task. Overtime solved nothing and the Lancers headed to their first shootout in team history.
After Tessier denied Karolyn McIlmoyle, Davis stepped up again for Windsor. Having learned from her penalty shot back in the second period, she started out wide on Clause before cutting in front of the Brock goalie and roofing a perfect backhand shot into the top of the net to give the Lancers the advantage.
The next shooter for both teams was stopped meaning Brock's Sutherland had to score to extend the game. She moved in and tried to deke Tessier to her backhand but the Lancer goalie stayed right with her, making the save and giving Windsor the victory.
