GEE-GEES QB CATCHES BIG BREAK
After taking a facemask to his left arm on the last play of Saturday’s 40-38 loss at Windsor, the six-foot-four drop back passer had an X-ray in Ottawa Sunday morning, which did not show a fracture.
“Good to go,” said Sacobie. “I don’t want to miss anything.”
Sacobie is coming off a career-worst five interceptions as the Gee-Gees gave up 35 points in the second quarter and home field advantage for the OUA playoffs
“That was probably my worst performance in a half over my whole career,” Sacobie said. “But you learn from it."
Sacobie is 483 passing yards away from tying the CIS all-time passing yardage record of 9,974 (Ben Chapdelaine, McMaster, 2001) and 11 touchdown passes shy of equalling the CIS all-time mark (87, Chris Flynn, St. Mary’s, 1990) with three regular season games remaining.
“It is a relief,” said Gee-Gees head coach Denis Piche. “We don’t upset the apple cart and can keep working at getting better."
The Gee-Gees (3-2) are home to Wilfrid Laurier (3-2) Sat., Oct., 4 at 12:30 p.m. at Frank Clair Stadium. The game can be seen nationally on University Rush on The Score.
“I don’t see any reason why (Josh) wouldn’t start,” said Piche.
