ARKELLS TO PLAY HALF-TIME SHOW AT 2008 DESJARDINS VANIER CUP
Considered the \"find\" of Canadian Music Week, Arkells bring a catchy, raw and unbridled sound to the stage. A group of musicians, not showmen, Arkells bleed honest musical passion and amazing Canadian rock without any pretension.
The band has been touring across Canada to support their debut album \"Jackson Square\" released on Oct.28. Arkells have opened for Sweet Thing and Alexisonfire.

Pre-game festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with the Y108 All-Canadian Tailgate Bash located inside Ivor Wynne Stadium at the corner of Melrose and Beechwood. Paddy-punk rock band The Mahones will take the stage performing songs from their eight released albums. The 2008 CIS All-Canadians will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.
Prior to kickoff, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds team will fly over Ivor Wynne Stadium, adding to the already electric atmosphere as the 2008 Desjardins Vanier Cup gets underway.
Don't miss out on the action as the Canadian university football champion is decided. The No. 1-nationally ranked Laval Rouge et Or battle the No. 3 Western Mustangs in the 2008 Desjardins Vanier Cup. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. with both the game and half-time performance by Arkells televised nationally live on The Score Television Network and RDS.
