OUA FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENCE: Davie Mason, Ottawa Gee-Gees, Running Back
The third-year running back from Brampton, Ont. via Barbados had a game for the ages on Saturday with an OUA and CIS playoff record 327 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a see-saw 42-37 playoff road win at Guelph. Mason, born in Barbados but raised in Brampton from age six, had a career-best 31 carries, adding two receptions for 30 yards as the Gee-Gees advance to the OUA semi-final for the fourth time in five seasons.
DEFENCE: Courtney Stephen, Laurier Golden Hawks, Free Safety
A rookie free safety from Brampton, Ont., Stephen had an interception return of 61 yards as Laurier shut out McMaster 29-0 in an OUA quarter-final playoff game. He also contributed 2.5 tackles and one knock down. It was Laurier’s first playoff shutout since 1980. Laurier advances to the OUA semi-finals for the sixth-straight season, all under the guidance of head coach Gary Jeffries.

SPECIAL TEAMS: Dillon Heap, Laurier Golden Hawks, Receiver
Second-year receiver Heap (Waterloo, Ont.) returned six punts for 120 yards, including an 88-yard return in Laurier’s 29-0 victory over McMaster. Despite missing the first three games of the regular season, Heap was fourth in OUA in total punt return yards with 305. Laurier has now won six consecutive games.
