MUSTANGS DOWN LANCERS FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE W-SOCCER WIN
LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs beat the Windsor Lancers 2-1 at TD Waterhouse Stadium on Oct. 9.
Mustang Courtney Lambert (Burlington, Ont.) scored four minutes into the game, followed by Chloe Prioetti (Mississauga, Ont.) who scored early in the second half (52nd minute).
The game looked like it was going to end in a shutout for Keltie Brigham (Regina, Sask.), however, Lancer Tiffany Phillips (Mississauga, Ont.) managed to score in the 83rd minute.
The Lancers were much more aggressive in the second half but could not manage two shots against the Mustangs.
Western worked hard for the victory. Effective ball movement and defence helped lead the team to their third consecutive win.
The Mustangs finish up the season hosting York at Brescia Fields on Oct. 18 and Wilfrid Laurier on Oct. 19 at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
Both games commence at 3:15 p.m.
