After spending four weeks at No. 2 behind the UBC Thunderbirds, the reigning W.P. McGee trophy champion Ravens received all 40 first-place votes in the final coaches' poll of the campaign.
Carleton (20-2 season / 2-0 playoffs) defeated cross-town rival Ottawa 78-64 last Saturday to capture yet another OUA East crown. The victory sets up an OUA final matchup this Saturday between the Ravens and Windsor (17-5 / 2-0), which dominated Lakehead 87-66 in the Ontario West title match.
Ottawa (18-4 / 1-1) and Lakehead (17-5 / 1-1) face off on Saturday for the third OUA berth into the CIS championship, to be held in the nation's capital at Scotiabank Place from March 19 to 21.
Meanwhile at the Canada West Final Four, UBC (17-1 / 3-1) was upset by Saskatchewan in the semifinal round, 104-87 in overtime, before rebounding the next day with a 78-68 bronze-medal win over Simon Fraser.
