Laurier, 72 @ Guelph, 73 Box Score
Kareem Malcolm’s (Brampton, Ont.) returned home Wednesday night was a memorable one, as his lay-in basket with 18 seconds remaining gave the Guelph Gryphons a 73-72 victory over the visiting Laurier Golden Hawks. With the victory the Gryphons move to 8-11, while the Golden Hawks fall to 12-7.
The Gryphons were led by Michael Petrella’s (Brantford, Ont.) 20 points, going an impressive 8-10 from the free throw line. Dan McCarthy (Guelph, Ont.) added 14 points while grabbing nine rebounds, and Jerald Greenidge (Brampton, Ont.) scored 12 with eight rebounds.
The Golden Hawks were led by Maxwell Allin’s game high 23 points, along with his game high 12 rebounds. Kale Harrison added 13 in a losing effort.
The Gryphon’s stormed out to an early 14-2 lead, shooting 60% from the field. McCarthy led a balanced scoring attack, netting six in the opening frame. The Gryphon’s led 20-13 after one.
The second quarter was even between both teams, with neither team able to take advantage. McCarthy led all scorers at halftime with eight points, with Petrella adding seven.
The third saw the Hawks storm back, as Allin caught fire, netting 11 in the quarter. The Gryphons were able to hold a slight 56-54 advantage after three, with both teams trading leads.
The final quarter saw both teams trading baskets, and neither team was able to put any separation between the two. A layup by Petrella put the Gryphons ahead two, but was immediately answered by an Allin three to put the Hawks ahead one. That’s when Malcolm played hero, netting the game winning layup to give the Gryphon’s their final lead. A tough defensive stance by the Gryphon’s saw the Hawks final attempt fall short.

Waterloo, 80 @ Windsor, 109 Box Score
The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team, led by Enrico Diloreto's 30 point performance, dominated the Waterloo Warriors 109-80 on Wednesday night at the St. Denis Centre.
With the victory, the Lancers move to 13-6 in conference play and remain in second place in the OUA West Division.
On Wednesday, the Lancers held a slight one-point advantage over the Warriors, 19-18 after one quarter of play.
Windsor began to build momentum in the second quarter as they used some solid outside shooting from Isaac Kuon and Enrico Diloreto to go up 45-30 at the break.
The second half was all Lancers as they went on a 22-6 run to open the third quarter, including 10 straight points from Enrico Diloreto.
In all, Windsor scored 35 points in the quarter to take a commanding 80-56 lead after three.
The fourth quarter continued to be dominated by the Lancers as they extended to a 30-point lead en route to the 109-80 victory.
Diloreto led all scorers with 30 points of 10 of 17 shooting and added 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Isaac Kuon finished with 25 points while Josh Collins added 10 points and 11 assists.
Lien Phillip had a monster game on the boards as he hauled down 17 rebounds to go along with his 8 points. Monty Hardware added 10 points while rookie Evan Matthews finished with 8 points.

Western, 55 @ McMaster, 69 Box Score
The McMaster men's basketball team handily defeated the Western Mustangs, 69-55, Wednesday night at the Burridge Gymnasium. The Marauders are now fourth in the OUA West division with a 10-9 record with three regular season games left.
The Marauders were fired up in the first quarter and the Mustangs were a little slow to the start as McMaster went into the second up by six. In the second though the Mustangs would come roaring back and would bring the score within three, 33-30, going into halftime thanks to game-high scorer Andrew Wedemire (Sarnia, Ont.). His work on the post proved effective against the Marauders as the fifth-year senior scored 19 points on the night.
It was smooth sailing for the Marauders after halftime as they out shot the Mustangs 25-12 in the third. Cam Michaud (Grimsby, Ont.) would record another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Scott Laws (Gormley, Ont.) would lead the Marauders in scoring on the night with 14 points and 5 assists.
Despite Western's efforts in the fourth, the Mustangs wouldn't be able to overcome the large lead built up by the Marauders in the third and McMaster would take the win 69-55.
Along with Michaud and Laws, Nathan Pelech (Mississauga, Ont.) and Jordan Tew (Greensville, Ont.) scored 13 and 10 points respectively. Kenan Etale (Dundas, Ont.) would record a game-high 13 rebounds in the win.
