HUNT HOT IN SERIES-WINNING VICTORY OVER LANCERS
With the road victory, Western wins the best-of-three series 2-0 and will now hold home-ice advantage in the best-of-three OUA West final series against Lakehead. The winners of the division finals advance to both the OUA Queen's Cup final and the CIS national championships, hosted by Lakehead. If Lakehead was to win the West final, Western could also qualify in a third-place OUA game.
Lakehead needed overtime to defeat Guelph 5-4 in overtime and win the other OUA West semifinal series 2-0.
After Josh Gaynor gave Windsor a 1-0 lead midway through the opening period, Geoff Killing (Embro, Ont.) tied the game with a point shot. Aaron Snow (Windsor, Ont.) scored the game-winner just over two minutes into the second period. Hunt made 24 saves in the second and third period combined to hold off an offensive onslaught from Windsor before Yashar Farmanara (West Vancouver, B.C.) scored an empty-netter in the final minute to ice the victory.
