LAKERS ADD SIZE AND SCORING WITH MCGEE
McGee, a 6-foot-3, 203 pound right wing from Mississauga, Ont., has spent the last five years playing in the Ontario Hockey League. He's played for the Owen Sound Attack for the past three seasons, notching 14 goals and 11 assists in 46 games last season.
"I'm really excited that Grant has decided to come to Nipissing and play for the Lakers," said Lakers head coach Mike McParland who actively recruited McGee this year. "Being a four-year major junior player, he offers experience playing high-level hockey. With his size and scoring ability, he'll make an immediate impact on our team and will help to create a more balanced scoring attack, something we knew we had to address in this off season."
"I'm very happy to be coming to Nipissing for university and playing for the Lakers after playing major junior for the last few years," said McGee. "Coach McParland really sold me on the team when he recruited me. I'm confident I can fit in nicely with the team and be able to make a significant difference, score some goals and help us win games."
