PIONEER PETROLEUMS OUA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
HAMILTON, Ont. – A pair of Brock Badgers have been named Pioneer Petroleums Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 5, 2010.
Each Pioneer Petroleums OUA Athlete of the Week will receive a $25 gift card and a dri-fit T-shirt, courtesy of Pioneer Petroleums.
MALE: Adam Schwark, Brock Badgers, Hockey
The third-year scored a career high four points in one game this weekend. The Badgers defeated the No. 10 ranked Waterloo Warriors by a score of 5-3. Schwark registered his first career hat trick and the game winning goal to upset the Warriors on Saturday. The Business Economics major has seven points on the season including four goals and three assists.
FEMALE: Jessica Fickel, Brock Badgers, Hockey
The rookie helped lead the No. 6 nationally-ranked Badgers to wins over the Waterloo Warriors and the No. 2 nationally-ranked Laurier Golden Hawks this past week. The Biomedical Sciences major recorded both game winning goals. On Saturday afternoon, the rookie scored the biggest goal of her young career beating the 2009-10 CIS Player of the Year Liz Knox in a shootout win as the Badgers became only the second team to beat the Golden Hawks in two years.
