Czech world junior squad to face Mustangs men's hockey in Aylmer
LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's hockey team will host the Czech Republic's U-20 team in an exhibition game on Saturday Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Aylmer, Ont., at the East Elgin Community Complex.
The Czech U-20 team will compete for the IIHF World Junior (Under-20) Hockey Championship in December and January in Buffalo, New York.
Tickets for the Sept. 11 exhibition for all ages are $10 for seats and $5 for standing room.
"It's a great opportunity for us to faceoff against a high-quality team prior to the start of our varsity season in October," says Clarke Singer, head coach of the Mustangs men's hockey team. "We'll get a great experience for our team against an international opponent and it is also an opportunity to reach out to a new community in Aylmer."

"The East Elgin Community Complex has a proud history of hosting Western events, previously hosting an exhibition hockey game in 2005 and two OUA Figure Skating Invitational Competitions," says Theresa Klachan, general manager of the East Elgin Community Complex. As part of their Canadian tour, the Czech Republic will also face the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires, two-time defending OHL and Memorial Cup champion. The Czech Republic won 3-2 over the OUA's Windsor Lancers on Sept. 8 in Essex, Ont.
